Parent Council – 11th January 2012
Headteacher’s report
Staffing
Miss Black has returned this week.
Budget
School fund – grant monies have been paid in and some fundraising has been completed – balance is around £6000 which includes Dalguise monies.
CRAG
Christmas party went well. Prize winners for the logo competition have been announced and prizes will be given at an assembly.
Building work
Since last meeting works completed are:
· Fencing
· Car park has been re-tarred
Still to be completed:
· gates
· some ground works
· some guttering
We still have an ongoing problem with the roof leaking above the staff room, and a problem with drainage behind the link corridor.
Christmas show
Feedback was very good (including a letter form Norbord) with only one or two suggestions – better lighting, sound quality. Most people thought the whole school show was a good idea, some staff are not sure. Some parents did not send their children to the evening performance which had an impact on the show.
Communication with parents
E-mail addresses have been collected and some letters etc have gone out. Numbers for texts are now in the system.
Health and Safety
Traffic management meeting – following a number of concerns raised by parents and staff there will be a traffic management meeting in the school on 2nd February at 9.30 to which all parents will be invited. The purpose of the meeting is to look at traffic issues around the school and agree a traffic plan which will be distributed to parents.
Parent information evening
We have a parent information evening in the diary for 1st May. We are planning that we will cover a curricular issue, present the active learning leaflet and have a “market place” set up to include educational psychologist service, school meals, health partners etc.
